Cyber Collective helps people think critically about their relationship with technology by translating complex tech topics into simple language while creating a sense of belonging for our community.

The tech industry is moving at breakneck speed, and we’ve seen just how harmful the downstream impact of Silicon Valley has been on society at large—and more deeply on marginalized and vulnerable communities. Technology users have misconceptions about the tools they use every day, and very few understand how their data and the systems they use dictate their future. The lack of access to basic, understandable technology information is a barrier that prevents people from fully understanding and mitigating unknown risks.

That’s why we founded Cyber Collective in 2019—to serve as translators to our communities. We work at the intersection of technology, society, and belonging, so we know just how critical it is to meet people where they are with the information they need to make informed decisions about their safety and digital wellbeing.

Together with our partners, we are driving generational impact by creating a world where technology is overwhelmingly a force for good; where people experience true autonomy and agency in their relationships with technology; and where the culture in technology shifts from a powerful few to the powerful many. In 2022, we helped one million people become more safe, secure, and confident online. In 2023 our work continues, with a goal of helping 1 million more.

Who You Are

Energized and passionate individual that has an impact first mentality. You are organized, proactive and not afraid of direct communication. You seek and value constructive feedback and are open to doing the same for others, especially related to your scope of work and best practices for the organization. You are an experienced coordinator that has excellent (and vibey) communication, interpersonal and empathy skills. You are comfortable reaching out to people you’ve never met, maintaining relationships and keeping the executive team aligned on priorities. You are someone who exhibits sound judgment with the ability to prioritize and make decisions. You are energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas, resourceful and a solutions oriented individual. You love using emojis, memes, and appreciate hilarious social media and pop culture references.

• $15-20 an hour depending on experience and skillset
